I was in Thailand in 2005 and hired the jet skis. It was early in the morning and I had to sign a declaration incase I damaged the jet ski. I went on it for half an hour with? a Thai girl and returned to shore....no problem. I guess I was lucky, times must have changed since I was there. My adive DON'T hire jet skis in Thailand!

easy steps to avoid this scam is get your camera (as your on holidays you most likley will have one) walk around the ski taking pic's. ask them to roll it on its side so you can get a pic of underside? by this time they will ask why are you are taking them just tell them you want no problems. generaly they will will say ok mate no problems. you need to be a little proactive & play their game.
